created a living plant chandelier Rainforest in the entrance area of the 1
Hotel London Mayfair
in London.
Several tens of thousands of Tillandsia usneoides branches cover a dome with a diameter of 4 meters illuminated by fiber optic threads.
This creates the effect of rain in a fairy-tale tropical forest right in the center of London.
Tillandsia usneoides is a plant that grows by attaching itself to trees in the tropical forests of Central America.
Such plants feed exclusively on moisture from the air and light, changing color from silvery-gray to fresh green when moistened. Small scales on their surface reflect light very well, which gives Rainforest the appearance of a living lamp.
